In 2018, the housing association Lieven de Key faced the challenge of revolutionizing key management for over 2,000 international student apartments. The campus, which includes buildings ranging from historic to brand-new, required a modern solution to enhance efficiency and minimize administrative workload.

The Lieven de Key Campus spans several buildings, ranging from 200 years old to just 6 months old. The high annual turnover rate of 300% presented additional challenges for management. A digital solution was necessary to streamline and modernize the complex key and access management process.

Integration of iLOQ: Supporting the Digitization

Alongside the introduction of GuestCompass, iLOQ's digital locking technology was implemented. This technology allowed the transition from managing 12,000 key transfers and 14,000 physical keys to a digital and keyless solution. The implementation required no modifications to the 2,000 doors, making the integration both efficient and cost-effective.

Extensions and Complete Digitization

By the end of 2022, the digital system was extended to an additional 1,249 technical doors, enabling comprehensive integration for 71 partners and 543 installers. In 2023, the digitization was completed with the update of locks on 156 student mailboxes. These measures resulted in a fully digital campus.
